The St. Francis wrestling program promotes the growth of students, both individually and as a team. With an emphasis on work ethic and spiritual and social growth, the wrestling program is an opportunity for any student interested in reaching his full potential. Members of the St. Francis wrestling team participated in the 2013 TRAC Championships.
Rudy Corpus
Head Wrestling Coach
St. Francis de Sales School is excited to announce the hire of Rudy Corpus as our next varsity head wrestling coach. He previously served as the assistant wrestling coach for Defiance College. Rudy, a native of Wauseon, Ohio, wrestled for Wauseon High School where he was an OHSAA state place winner, Junior Olympic medalist, AAU National Champion, & Greco/Freestyle All-American. He wrestled collegiately at Bowling Green State University while obtaining his Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology. Rudy has since earned his Master's degree in Kinesiology with a specialization in cardiac & pulmonary rehab, and he is currently working on his Doctorate in Health Care Administration.
"I am beyond excited to have the opportunity to lead the wrestling program here at St. Francis in a new direction. My goal is to bring back the rich wrestling tradition this school has. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to lead these young Knights to future success on and off the mats."
Rudy will also join the mathematics department, teaching geometry. He and his fiancée, Mika, have two children, Emilio & Amora.
