St. Francis basketball focuses on the development of a total student athlete, with players working on spiritual strength, along with social, academic, and athletic skills. The program teaches the value of hard work and dedication, and its base belief is ADD: Accountability, Discipline, and Dedication. The goal of the program is to provide the fundamentals for successful college athletes, while recognizing that the players are still in high school.Over the 2013 summer, the varsity program took its top 10 players to Dayton for a summer training camp. During this time, the team played 30 games against some of the top talent in Ohio and managed to finish 21-9. In 1984, St. Francis de Sales’ varsity program won the Division One State Title in basketball.
To play on the St. Francis basketball team, students must participate in winter tryouts and be selected by the coaching staff.
