St. Francis de Sales Credit Recovery Options

Students are strongly encouraged to begin working on credit recovery now instead of waiting until the end of summer. Cramming a credit recovery course in at the end of the summer is extremely stressful and no way to end the summer!

Below, you will find a number of credit recovery options; all of which have been approved by the school’s Academic Dean. No option is better than the other, however, you will want to research each option closely and decide which is best for your family. There are several online credit recovery options available at varying prices. While you’ll see that these are the most affordable options, these courses tend to be better suited for students who are self-motivated with strong time management and organizational skills. If you choose an online option for your son and you know that he is not self-motivated and well organized, you must plan to provide guidance and encouragement.

If you are unsure whether an online course is appropriate for your son and his success, we encourage private tutoring. St. Francis has composed a list of private tutors who have been approved to provide one-on-one credit recovery tutoring for our students. Private tutoring is well-suited for students who need a little more structure, guidance, explanation, and differentiated instruction. There are no online options for making up failed religion courses, so religion classes must be made up with a tutor. Private tutoring is also not suitable for students who wish to play a sport in college. The NCAA does not accept credit recovery in this fashion.

Parents must submit their son's plan for first-semester credit recovery no later than Friday, June 14, 2019. Just click on the 'submit your credit recovery plan' button below to do so.

Please thoroughly review the information on this site and let your son’s counselor know if you have any questions. We wish your son the best of luck on his credit recovery.  Thank you!
