Camp DeSales
Located on Vineyard Lake in Michigan's Irish Hills, Camp DeSales has been a gathering place for young people for over 75 years. Owned by the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales since 1948, the 214-acre Brooklyn, Michigan camp is experiencing new life as a regional destination for students from St. Francis and other Catholic Schools.Camp DeSales provides area teenagers with face-to-face, in-person retreat experiences where electronics aren't needed - a change of pace for students who lived through virtual education due to COVID-19. Each camp experience allows students to deepen their faith through leadership activities and prayer. Through the bonds of friendship and brotherhood at Camp DeSales, students return to home and school with new perspectives.
There is a short window of opportunity before young people go off to college when we are able to capture their hearts.

Programs
These are some of the programs that St. Francis students attend at Camp DeSales each year
Given that the Oblates own and operate both St. Francis de Sales School and Camp DeSales, there is consistency with programs, hospitality, and familiarity for our students which allows for deeper spiritual development opportunities.rev. ken mckenna, osfs '74, director of camp desales
