Scholarships

Academic Scholarships

Freshman Distinction Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to the top 5% of HSPT scorers. To be considered for the scholarship, a student must take the HSPT in November or December and submit an application to St. Francis de Sales by January 15th. Effective with the class of 2029 and after, a recipient of this scholarship will receive $1,000 (in addition to any other merit awards) each year, totaling $4,000 over four years, provided he remains in good standing with St. Francis de Sales School.

Provincial Scholarship

Any student applying to St. Francis de Sales who scores in the 97-99% on the High School Placement Test (HSPT) qualifies for this scholarship. Students will receive $3,000 per year totaling $12,000 over four years, provided he remains in good standing with St. Francis de Sales School.

Presidential Scholarship

Any student applying to St. Francis de Sales who scores in the 95-96% on the High School Placement Test (HSPT) qualifies for this scholarship. Students will receive $2,000 per year totaling $8,000 over four years, provided he remains in good standing with St. Francis de Sales School.

Trustee Scholarship

Any student applying to St. Francis de Sales who scores in the 90-94% on the High School Placement Test (HSPT) qualifies for this scholarship. Students will receive $1,000 per year totaling $4,000 over four years, provided he remains in good standing with St. Francis de Sales School.

Blessed Louis Brisson Scholarship

Any student applying to St. Francis de Sales who scores in the 80-89% on the High School Placement Test (HSPT) qualifies for this scholarship. Students will receive $750 per year totaling $3,000 over four years, provided he remains in good standing with St. Francis de Sales School.

Founders Scholarship

Any student applying to St. Francis de Sales who scores in the 70-79% on the High School Placement Test (HSPT) qualifies for this scholarship. Students will receive $500 per year totaling $2,000 over four years, provided he remains in good standing with St. Francis de Sales School.

Salesian Spirit Scholarship

The Salesian Spirit Scholarship was established to support incoming 9th-grade students, whether from public or private schools, who demonstrate a strong desire to become part of the St. Francis brotherhood.

The amount of the award will be determined by factors, which may include financial need and the number of awards extended.

Knight Community Scholarships

Brotherhood Award

At St. Francis de Sales School, brotherhood is more than a word—it’s a way of life. Whether in the classroom, on the field, or in the community, our students forge lifelong bonds rooted in faith, service, and camaraderie. To honor this unique tradition, the Brotherhood Award provides financial support to families with multiple sons enrolled at St. Francis, reinforcing our commitment to making a Salesian education accessible to all.

Requirements: Any applicant in 7th-11th grade who has a current brother attending St. Francis de Sales School. ($500 for 2 sons, $1,000 for 3 sons, and $1,500 for 4 sons)

Knight of de Sales Legacy Awards

7/8th Grade Knight of de Sales Legacy Award

Any applicant who is a son of a St. Francis de Sales graduate is eligible to receive this scholarship. The recipient will receive $500 each year.

High School Knight of de Sales Legacy Award

Any applicant who is a son of a St. Francis de Sales graduate is eligible to receive this scholarship. The recipient will receive $1,000 (in addition to any other merit awards) each year, totaling $4,000 over four years.

Catholic School Employee Award

Catholic education is built on the dedication of teachers, administrators, and staff who serve in schools and parishes. To recognize their vital work, St. Francis offers a grant specifically for children of Catholic school employees, ensuring that these families can benefit from the same formation they help provide to others.

Requirements: Parent or guardian is a verified full-time Catholic School employee. Students must remain in good standing with St. Francis de Sales School.

The EdChoice Scholarships are available for ALL Ohio residents, regardless of income status.

Jon Peterson Scholarship

The Jon Peterson Special Needs (JPSN) Scholarship Program provides scholarships to students who are eligible to attend kindergarten through 12th grade and have an Individualized Education Program (IEP) from their district. The amount of each scholarship will be based on the primary disability condition identified on the student's Evaluation Team Report (ETR). Students must be enrolled in the scholarship program for the entire program year to receive the full scholarship amount.

Endowed Scholarships and Financial Assistance

St. Francis de Sales offers over 200 endowed scholarships, made possible through the generosity of our supporters. These resources are available to incoming students to help ensure accessibility for families. We are proud that due to the kindness and support of the Knight community, 100% of families who express the need for financial assistance receive it. To be considered for scholarships or financial assistance, parents must complete the FACTS Financial Aid Application.

We are proud that, thanks to the kindness and support of the Knight community, including alumni, parents, friends, and benefactors, 100% of families who express the need for financial assistance receive it.

-For non-Ohio residents, although you are not eligible for the Ohio EdChoice scholarship, you can still apply on the FACTS website to receive financial assistance.

-For Ohio residents, after you have received your EdChoice award notification from the Ohio Department of Education, and additional aid is needed, apply on the FACTS website.

Please note: A $45 fee is required to apply.

Tuition: $15,900

Registration Fee: $500

Student Activity Fee: $600

TOTAL: $17,000

Registration Fee: Includes cost of class scheduling, textbooks, workbooks, locks for student lockers, science class goggles, and ID card. Your son will not be considered enrolled for the 2026-2027 school year until this fee is paid. This includes participation in sports, clubs, and all school activities.

Student Activity Fee: Includes yearbook, participation fees for most sports & clubs, admission to home games, retreats, science labs and standardized testing fees.

Senior Fee - $350: Includes off-campus retreats, cap and gown, Baccalaureate Mass and graduation ceremony. For class of 2027 only.

Grades 7 & 8

Tuition: $12,550

Registration Fee: $500

Student Activity Fee: $600

TOTAL: $13,650
