EdChoice Information
EdChoice, and those who have completed an EdChoice application for 2023-2024 do not need to take further action. If you have not yet renewed your current EdChoice application, please do so as soon as possible.
For those who currently receive need-based financial aid (shown as a tuition grant or sibling grant on your financial aid letter) from St. Francis, the credit for EdChoice may be offset by a reduction in need based aid, as applicable. In other words, the EdChoice scholarship is not stackable with need-based aid. (Please note – No change will be made to discounts or other assistance received from St. Francis that is not based on financial need.)
St. Francis will apply the credit for the EdChoice scholarship to your student’s invoice, in the applicable amount, once the Ohio Department of Education notifies St Francis of the scholarship award. Payment plans (amounts and payment due dates) will not be revised prior to the scholarship award from the Ohio Department of Education.
The state will start making these awards beginning August 4, 2023. Since this is new, we have no timetable from the state and this process could take several weeks or months. We will apply credits as soon as they are known.
We will provide additional information to families regarding scholarship amounts and effective dates in the next several weeks as new information is released by the Ohio Department of Education. We are excited by the opportunity this new legislation provides our St. Francis families to lower education costs, not just this year but well into the future.
